Weird PSECU Experience

I know i shouldnt and glad for this experience, as i didnt go through with it, but i had to share this here to see what others thought.

Last night i was checking all my accounts, etc and noticed its been about 5 months since i last applied for a PSECU cc and even though i know better i started filling in an app for giggles. Mind you i had all reports locked or frozen.

Last time the hp was on Ex. So anyway, the app is a 3 step/page process. Ok so im basically finishing up page 2, very close to finishing app when a text alert goes off!. Someone tried pulling Tu. Wtfico?? The text doesnt say so i immediately login to my TU subscription to see who. Lol, yup it was PSECU! . I hadnt even finished the app or hit submitSmiley Sad. I was so weirded out i just closed the app right there.

Ive never experienced a bank or CU trying to pull my credit BEFORE i officially submitted the app. Im kinda glad it stopped me, you know me snd my drapping ways, but am curious on everyones thoughts? Thanks

Re: Weird PSECU Experience

That's bizarre, man... perhaps you can convince them to remove the INQ?

Re: Weird PSECU Experience

Yeah, weird. I just checked my ficos with the $1 Experian trial and man my credit score never improves lol, even after moving majority of debt to a new pl. I had to unlock my reports so i could see all updated fico scores so i said fico it just hit submit of saved app as i was curious what their UW would think of my profile now. Have an inq dropping anyway so ill stay at 18. Doesnt really matter as ill never see 800 or even 750 on my TU anyway. Ill keep ya updated on what they say. 99% sure denial as thats my jam but maybe a suprise comingSmiley Wink

Oh wow. I wished you had taken a pic of the page as proof you had not actually submitted the application. Thank goodness your reports were on lockdown.

Re: Weird PSECU Experience

AJC I didn't realize they do a HP for membership. lol

Just burned another one. I wonder if the same pull can be used for applications as well?

Wasn't intending to apply for any more credit. But I also wasn't intending to take another HP either. lol

Last I heard, pull was good for either 15 or 30 days.  You can call and ask.

Very weird keep us updated.

My daughter and son are both members. I was thinking about joining at the end of the month. They seem to be pretty conservative.

They always seem to pull EX.
