It's been 5 years since I last applied for a credit card. That Wells CB card has sparked my interest
I've read that WF is conservative with their approvals so before I apply I'd like to ask a couple questions before adding a inquiry on my report.
Is there a requirement to open a WF checking account in order to get the Active Cash CC?
My status currently is four credit cards (3 of them have 0 balance), the 1 card I have a balance on is $2K. Under 5% utilization total between all four cards. Also have a car note (4 years in on a 6 year term). Score is above 800.
Since I have four credit cards already will that hinder my chances of getting approved with a generous limit?
thanks!
what's the limit on that card with a $2k balance?
5% overall is okay, but if that card has a low limit, that would look problematic
you don't need to open checking/savings with them, but they do consider it (like BoA) I believe. If you aren't planning to move all of your money and dd over to WF, I wouldn't bother
I would be extremely shocked if you weren't approved for a generous-ish limit, depending on your income level
4 cards is nothing, especially since they are all extremely well aged and you haven't opened a new card in forever

I am pretty much going to have to agree with @GatoradeZeroGuy
I think you have a good shot at a decent limit.
Don't bother opening a checking acct.
You can read through some past Approval's [here]
Welcome to the forum.
The credit limit on that card with a $2K balance is $21K.

You should be good to go
@Fastphilly, Here is another recent example of an Active Cash ->[Approval]
I think you'll be fine.
Welcome @Fastphilly
I left Chase 4 months ago and went in branch and opened the Early Direct Deposit Checking with WF. Moved all my money. And was approved for the AC at the same time. Payday shows up around 5-7pm Wed Night. Double win!
OP:
I see an approval - but which WF card do you want?

@NoMoreE46, I think it is listed in the title "Active Cash" "Re: Wells Fargo Active Cash approval question"
You could be having a @M_Smart007 moment? ..or lack of sleep? ..
