Wells Fargo Propel Card

So i applied the other day for the propel card with WF. It went to pending for verification and i received a call today for me to verify a few things. The CSR stated she will then forward my app to another credit dept so they can review and it should take about 24-48 hours to hear anything or for me to wait on mail. Has anyone who applied for this card gone through the same process and what could this other dept be doing with the app?

Re: Wells Fargo Propel Card

Yup, standard verification protocols OP. It took roughly ~24 hours IME for my application to process and get approved back in July.

Just wait things out and you should know the results within that timeframe.

Do you have an existing banking or credit relationship with them? How many CC accts have you opened in the last 24 months?

I ask because they can be picky if you don’t have an acct. with them. I app’d in July and got denied for the sole reason of being at 5/24! With a 773 EX F9 at that! Less than 2 months later they sent me a prequal’d invitation in the mail with a set APR of 17.49% which I accepted. Instant approval of $10K SL with a much lower score of 750s EX F9 only because 2 accts aged off and was at 3/24 that time.

New cc TLs : 0/6 ; 0/12 ; 0/24 | HPs EX 0 EQ 0 TU 0 | AAoA 9y8m | UTIL 1% - 4% | $300K+ Total Limits

Re: Wells Fargo Propel Card

I applied last Sunday for the Propel & got the same message. Monday afternoon I called and answered a couple of identity verification questions and was instantly approved. So I would guess your app is being manually underwritten. Good luck.
