You are in the best postion right now. Building credit can strike fear in anyone that is why this community is here to support you. The CLI from CAP 1 won't make much of a difference.
So lets do this.. We will do it one at a time so that you are not overwhelmed. Remember, because your file is thin this application will cause your score to reduce a bit. Don't panic as it will go back up.
Do you want the Chase Freedom card? If you do, have your phone charged and I hope you have eaten some breakfast. If you apply and it goes into pending, we will have you call and recon. I will tell you what to say when you call...
What do you think?
Bravo on the helping hand WTG
I think i would prefer to stay away from Chase for the time being since I was just denied a CSP a while back...
Still leaning BCP unless you think it too pie in the sky.

OK.. But revisit them when you have healed from the denial. They are a good bank to get in with. Lets do as you say. Apply for the BCP and report back.
Woot!
Approved for the BCP . CL is pretty low at $2500, but it's a start.
Thanks much for all the advice, etc.

Very good and congrats. What is the limit approved for? Lets not stop there... Are you ready for more or do you need to take a little break? This is why I want you to apply for the freedom... If you are taking a little break then read this thread...
Must have edited the post just after you hit reply. Limit is $2500 to start....lower than I had hoped, but I digress.

Amex cards will grow with you quickly... The most important thing is you are in... In 60 days you will be loooking at a CLI of $7,500...
Way to go! Congrats
I am sort of enamored with the idea of applying for one more card, but worried about having that 3rd inquiry in 6 weeks and the potential immediate credit score hit from adding on the new cards.
