Hello everyone!
So I've been lurking on these forums for almost a year slowly rebulding my credit, i started with a 542 credit score and now im at a 655 and rising! I want to apply for a Cap One Venture Card and possibly a Discover IT card so i can take advantage of the rewards on these cards. Would i be approved for these cards? what card would you recommend me getting. I want 1 or 2 new cards and then im going back to the garden for a year. I would love a Chase Freedom card, but I'm not quite there yet.
So far my open credit card accounts are
Partners FCU Visa -2,000 CL 62 percent utlization
Cap One Quicksilver One Card 1,200 CL 10 percent utilization
Kohls/Cap One 300 CL 5 percent utlization
Income: 48,000/yr
I have a few student loan baddies from 2009 90 day lates, but otherwise my credit report has been clear since then but these are really holding my scores down.
Off topic...You work for Disney?

Cap One Quicksilver One Card 1,200 CL 10 percent utilization
Kohls/Cap One 300 CL 5 percent utlization
Income: 48,000/yr

Utilization will be your determining factor in your case. Get that utilization down and then apply for new cards. However, getting a new credit card is done on a case by case basis. How will this new card benefit you? Are you looking for rewards, cash back feature or air miles?
Yup I work for Disney ![]()
And OMG i was just approved for the venture 10,000 CL and the Quicksilver Sig for 3,000 I'm beyond happy! I might go to chase and use the preqal there but i really should go back to the garden... And yes I'm working to get that Partners Visa down so everything will be under 10 percent. These high limits will totally help that!

Thought so! I have been debating apping for the Partners Visa just knowing that CU usually give high SL, but I didn't know anyone else who had one. I have an auto loan with them at the moment too, so I would imagine they like me...
hmm...
Oh, and congrats on the approvals of course!

Go for it man! they gave me that SL when my credit score was in the upper 500's. They were the only bank that would give me an unsecured card, so they are really good. I just refinanced my car with them. They offer a signature card too, i just have the platium.

Yeah, I was going to suggest just going for it. The concern about the utilization on a $2k card, when you already have a good history with CapOne directly, is not an issue, as you see already.
Congratulations on the score improvement and the new Venture card!
