What did your profile look like when approved by AMEX?

I'm thinking about applying for AMEX,  but want to know which of their cards are easier to get?

When I applied for my first Amex back in 2013 I had..

- 690 ish Credit Score

- 2006 foreclosure that had not yet aged off.

- 2 4yo Paid Medical Collections that had not yet aged off.

- 1 unpaid judgement for HOA fees associated to my 2006 foreclosure

I was approved for the Delat Gold Skymiles card with a $1,500 CL and then after 60 days I received a 3x CLI that bumped me up to $4,500.. Now, it could have been that I had a prior relationship with Amex back from 1998 through 2006 when they closed my accounts due to other issues I had with my house loan.. I never burned them and made sure I was never ever late with them. They simply took proactive steps to close my accounts as paid as agreed.

Good luck to you..

I too applied for the Delta Gold Sky Miles card. Historically that has been the easiest Amex card to get. I too was in the 690 range with a clean report when approved. I got mine in 2012 with a begining CL of 1,500. I have since moved up to the Platinum Delta Sky Miles card with a CL of 30K.

Not true. It depends on where you live and what your profile looks like.  Pulls for my 3 cards were all EX, but I have heard of them double pulling in some cases.

750's.  Only had 4 cards at the time.(no big limits)  3 inq's across the board.  New 57k car loan &  just a 10k moto loan plus mtg for 3 yrs.  But I had an Amex a very long time ago & it was backdated.

Re: What did your profile look like when approved by AMEX?

My first approval was 12/30/2014 - ED.

EX score was approx 735 (don't recall exactly).  BK7 from 07 still on reports.  No missed payments since BK.  Multiple student loans(all paid), 1 auto loan, and a combo of active store and "prime" cards, plus a few closed by me cards.

I had a far less than stellar past relationship with Amex, but they finally welcomed me back.  Since December, I have added the PRG and Delta Gold.Smiley Very Happy

They approved me for the EveryDay card about 3 months ago with a starting CL of $5000. That was with no credit history whatsoever which shocked me. Not saying this will happen to you or happens to everyone.
