I got a solicitation from them today and I can't figure out what kind of cared it is. It could be a prime card like Chase Sapphire or it could be a fee harvester card which is a waste of otherwise good plastic. Does anyone know?

Surge is issued by Celtic Bank - fee harvester, monthly fees starting in year 2, max credit limit 750.
If you can avoid it, avoid it.

"It could be a prime card like Chase Sapphire "
I have my doubts.

I see zero mention of rewards on their home page. ![]()
With your scores I cannot believe they had the audacity to send you a "targeted" advertisement...

Neither can I, that's what took me back and I asked. Suspecting some kind of fraud, I didn't even want to click on any link they had in that email. I am a Senior Citizen and I get scam email daily, but they are usually easy to spot because they are usually claiming that an account I don't have at some bank I don't do business with has been hacked or otherwise compromised. I may be old but I'm not stupid yet.

Richard Pryor used to say, you don't get to be old by being a fool. 😂😂😂

I agree about the fee harvester part whole heartedly, but the max CL is more than $925. I'm currently sitting at $925 and I just hit the 2 year mark with this card. Waiting to see if they offer me another CLI soon. If you can avoid this card, definitely toss this offer and any offer you receive for this card. I'm in 13 so I've needed it to rebuild, but it's kept in my sock drawer most definitely. Hope this info helps.
I received a pre-approval on Credit karma or a similar site. Predatory card for sure. They might have got your name from some old mailing list when your scores were lower. Surge definitely refers to the fees as in your fees will SURGE...
I will see myself out.
