I was planning to apply for the Freedom and the Chase Amazon Prime Visa in June along with maybe the QS or the DC, but after reading this I am seriously reconsidering my plan of attack. I'd rather deal with a lender who appreciates my business and wants me around not someone that will kick you around and make you jump through their hoops all the time. I do understand from their point it's their money their rules, but still they should care a little more for the customer.
I edited my original post to say what happened. Spoiler alert: they suck.
Wow! I'm really sorry you had to go through this but thank you for sharing your experience it was definitely eye-opening for me and I will definitely be reconsidering whether or not I want to go forward with Chase in a few months.

You should check out CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). Google it and go to their website. They help lots of people with problems like yours. Good luck!
Doubt the CFPB would be able to do any help here. Technically the banks can close your accounts for any reason they wish, in this case Chase can simply explain like "upon review we have decided to terminate our business relationship", at least people in the past who got their checking+savings+credit cards all closed by Chase got this type of response after bringing it to the CFPB.
Chase may provide an accurate answer regarding the credit reporting, but they are not required to re-open the accounts and a generic business decision response will be sufficient.
Now I am curious what everyone's guess is, in regards to what's a safe number of cards to apply for at once when a Chase card is involved. I was thinking of applying for two cards simultaneously (one being a Chase card), and from a consumer standpoint, I don't think applying for two cards at the same time is worth a lender getting spooked--but who knows now!
Personally I think Chase's cards have some of the best rewards, alongside AMEX, so I unfortunately can't side with the people who say turn their backs on them. Personal choice

Sorry this happened OP, I have had cards closed by several banks a few years ago, but not all cards.
I suggest a take-away for others may be do not use the old methods of app spree, multiple cards at once and certainly not multiples from Chase at once. I append CSP at the first of January, it was my first new Chase card in three years. I got a message to wait some time period, and did wait. No calls to try to see where status was, no other apps during this time. Approved a week or so later and still open over two months later
AA cannot be predicted, but too much activity with Chase may raise flags. The new CU bank account, plus multiple apps to different parts of Chase underwriting likely came together eventually. Chase Amazon ( Co-branded ) is probably a different group from Chase Slate ( bank cards )

Thinking back to April 2017 when I was a normal consumer, unaware of combined credit pulls and such, I’d say a normal consumer applies for one card at a time. I didn’t think to double app with the same bank until I found this board for a combined credit pull. It’s about the same time I started strategically applying.
Massive assumption here but I think most people are like former me. Regarding Chase, one app in isolation is my direction for others going forward. Personally, I’d app for a Chase card first and wait until the Chase card was activated and before Chase reported to CBs to start applying for others. By that time, Chase’s RM team should be done their review process.
