As someone who has applied for and been denied Chase cards three times over the past two years, seeing more of these AA posts reaffirms my decision not to pursue a relationship with them. I hold a checking account with them that I use as an emergency fund, but I definitely will not be wasting any more hard pulls on them. The Chase trifecta is extremely tempting, but their practices are a huge turn off. Even their website for ebanking is horrific and loads extremely slow on the login page.
See - this is where the CFPB may help mitigate any negative mark on your credit. If its caused damage by reducing score and you can prove it.. and I would first contact Chase and let them know you intend the file a formal complaint with the CFPB as well at the FTC if they do not remove the account ASAP.
It's a lousy situation, but the accounts aren't really going to hurt you one way or the other. You obviously won't get the utilization benefit since they are closed, and they will ding your AAOA, but there's nothing negative about them. Closed by grantor seems to mean little except maybe if you had a ton of those on a manual review.
I think with any bank it really pays to pace out your applications these days as more and more banks crack down and really want to see established usage on a fewer number of accounts, vs a bunch of barely used ones or a several recent applications. All one can do is adapt to the shifting climate in credit.
There's nothing to lose in filing a complaint but technically they have the right to close your account at any time for whatever reason they want, so not sure you will have much luck.
I find your comment very aggressive for no reason. If that was not your intent, then you need to work on your delivery because you are reacting extremely emotional. Nothing about my post claims that I am "special" and unless you work for Chase I could really care less about your opinion.
I actually value my relationship and will continue to obtain Chase cards since they are among the best in rewards alongside banks such as AMEX. You can do as you please since it does not affect me the same way my situation has no affect on you. Do you and be an adult and respect differing opinions. You have a great night

@Anonymouswrote:Yeah, I am really OCD about my credit and I think that's where Credit Karma has the most value for me with its credit monitoring. I check my credit on there (not scores) once a week (even though I get alerts) to make sure nothing suspect has popped up. Also, I know there are arguments on both sides about not liking hard inquiries on your credit (not wanting to get into that), but I never like to keep more than 2 inquiries on my report at a time.
I attribute the above items as reasons why I luckily (knocks on wood) have never had any issues out of banks not even once. I know it can happen to anyone which is why I tell people don't get all of your credit cards from one bank because if they stab you in the back, you have other options.
Chase has been my bank for going on 10 years so I think that relationship helps a lot so I think I will be fine when I apply for the CSP in May (card is awesome), however it looks like I will probably wait until after I activate my CSP before applying for an additional card I am eyeing with another bank. Doesn't hurt to be cautious
They could care less about your 10 year relationship. They will close your accounts in the blink of an eye. Your not special, none of us are. Forget the relationship thing. There is none.
This thread has been good overall on responses, but I think most of what needed to have been said at this point has been said. No need for various people to be rude to each other. So let this be a reminder to be FSR so I won't have to lock this thread or send out any PM's that you all love so much . Thanks in advance.

As random and frustrating as it often seems, as others have said here and elsewhere, neither Chase nor any other issuer hands out AA's for no reason whatever, even if their reasons are often closely held to themselves for business reasons and opaque to us at first glance. I've lost track of all the times I've read a thread complaining about an AA that was dropped on them seemingly out of the blue, and then as the thread progressed and people asked questions and elicited more detailed and precise information, it developed - in every single case that I can think of - that the OP had done something (or sometimes, forgotten to do something) that triggered an alert in the issuer's computers. A lot of people forget that revolving credit is issued solely at the discretion of the bank/credit union and that it's their prerogative to withdraw or restrict that credit at any time if the customer fails to honor the terms of the agreement or engages in behavior elsewhere that shows up on their credit reports and triggers the notice of the issuer.

Not being rude at all and I respect everyone's opinions. But the fact is, they don't care about your 10 year relationship And will indeed shut you, me or anyone else down for whatever reason they desire.
Did you say I was being emotional? Take a second look at your response to my post that you feel is "aggressive".
We are all entitled to our opinions. This is a public forum and your not always going to agree with someone's response to your post.
Everything about how you communicate with people is aggressive and emotional, but I have had my fill of your "adult" way of communciating and refuse to give it anymore of my time. You have a great week sir.
