Anyone willing to offer advice on when I should apply for a 2nd Chase account. I've had my Freedom card (cl $3,000) since late Dec '14. Never been late, make several hundred in payments and transactions every month. Current balance is $1800 because of a recent furniture purchase and a few BTs when I first opened the account. Outside of Chase I have cards with CapOne , BofA and Barclay. All in good standing. My most recent account is a Venture that I got at the beginning of this month (cl $5,000, currently waiting on EO for a requested increase to $10,000)
I would really like to pair up my Freedom with the CSP or may even consider the SW card again since I was declined in Feb and was told they wanted to see a little more history with how I handle my Freedom account.
I am not really in any rush for a new account because I am focussing on meeting the spending for the bonus on my Venture. But I am a "planner" and knowing my "options" keeps me motivated....
Any advice is greatly appreciated...
Since you have had it since December, apply in 6 month - June. That should give them enough time to see history and also see the CAP 1 increase should their EO increase the limit to 10k.

I think there's a lot of YMMV to this. It was 4 months until I got another $5k limit Visa Sig card from Chase and two months after getting my first Chase card that I got AARP. Waiting longer could give you a better chance at a higher limit if you want that but I found CSP pretty easy to get once you've had some kind of established history with them.

Chase seems to be one of those lenders that have more faith in you if you have any product with them.
IE: Easier to get a card if you bank, easier to get CSP if you already have Slate/Freedom.
OP if you got approved for a 3K limit a few months back, i'd wait until you've aged the card at least a year (and not accrue any more HP's in the meanwhile) this way you'll receive a higher SL for it. Chase is not the best with CLI's and you want to start at the highest possible. If you have to travel then just go for it at 6 months.
6 months IMO.. When I reconned with my recent Chase Marriott app to no avail... Main reasons were to much new credit and length of history with current Chase accounts... UW basically said 6 months of history with them and I would be golden. Got my card Freedom in Nov and CSP in Dec... Obviously YMMV and if a persons profile is strong it can offset that, but the reports they pulled were not my pride and joy compared to my TU.. So long story short the more time with them the better chance you have from at least my experience.

Agreed.. If he already made an attempt and was told he/she needs more history, I wouldn't chance it again in 2 months if I were in OP's shoes.
Good advice. My Freedom just hit 5 months, and I was wondering when to app for the CSP. Chase Pre Qual site shows me zilch though, at this point
More good Advice. Thanks Popa
Got my CSP a month after opening my Freedom, which was my first card with Chase. Didn't have a prequalified offer on their site either.
Anything can happen.
