Re: Where to start…

There's several cards that offer preapproval, I just got approved for the Chase Freedom Flex and a Capital One Quicksilver One... The Freedom Flex is nice since it doesn't have a yearly...

All derogs recently fell off and my score jumped to 697 Exp. If I get util under 7%, it'll be above 750 next month.

I currently only have a Discover It card with a $500 CL. I just applied for AmEx Gold and was denied because my current credit limit is too small.

Wondering where I should start - requesting CLI with Discover? Applying for other cards? I'm pre-approved for a Credit One 5X card, but hear that Credit One isn't that favorable.

At my current CL/score, are there any cards you guys recommend applying for?

Thank you, all!

My advice would be:

1. Do NOT apply to Credit One or other sub-prime card.

2. You might do well to join a credit union that has a card you would like, and then apply for that card.

3. You might want to try applying for : American Express Blue Cash Everyday, Chase Freedom Unlimited, or Comenity AAA Daily Advantage or Travel Advantage (if you're in the right region for it).

4. Yes it can't hurt you to apply for a soft pull CLI from Discover, as that is soft pull.

Re: Where to start…

I don't know which cb has your best score but on the experian.com site you can see if you're preapproved for several cards that look at your Experian and they even have some cards that are "no ding if not approved" such as the Apple card!
