Don't just go by which one you have a best shot for approval odds. What are you trying to accomplish with the card? Are you focusing on any specific rewards?

Keep in mind that scores aren't going to be the only thing they'll review. Number of inquiries, new accounts (if applicable), income, utilization and history are some of the other factors they'll take into consideration.

+1 above

What about the Uber Visa? That card is great for restaurants, phone insurance, $50/year credit and 3% on travel...and it's a Visa Siggy.

Re: Which Barclay card to apply for?

Ok !  I finally figured out how to put my info into my signature line !  I was thinking Barclays as my TU is my best score at 679 ... Honestly, i would love a card with travel rewards, however, i really just wanted the extra credit line to go on a vacation...  i had open heart surgery last summer and haven't been able to do much !!!  I'm young..  46 !!!  We already booked a cruise on Holland America which is why I was thinking that card, but honestly, i had read that Apple and NFL were the easiest cards to get and with a decent credit line...  My problem may be the inquiries at 30 !!!  I went to purchase a car in Nov and they hit me nonstop at the dealership even AFTER telling them to submit to 3 banks...  here is my up to date info...

Re: Which Barclay card to apply for?

I don't think so, people say this and that. It all comes down to your profile....However, Barclay do not like too many inquiries.  So even if a card was "easier" to get, those inquiries might be an issue.

Re: Which Barclay card to apply for?

I have a Disco  $1800 limit..  just had an Auto CLI for $200 from $1600  4 days ago... i tried to recon for more on the phone and it was a NOGO.. they told me to try back in 30 days...  it was just a soft pull of a score from 4/2/18 which was 655  .. i am at 679 today...  CSR said they don't do hard pulls yet.. i just let it go because she didn't seem very helpful !!!

Re: Which Barclay card to apply for?

As c00mtg mentioned above, your inquiries plus utilization may not put you in the best odds for approval, unfortunately.

Even if you decided to apply and go the reconsideration route, and if successful, it's possible you'll only get approved with a very low SL, not $1,500.

If you recently were able to get the consolidation loan to get some things organized financially, work on getting the balances down and consider Barclays down the road. It just doesn't seem optimal at this point in my view. But, others can chime in.
