Exactly!!!!! IT'S more than POSSIBLE that you have already been given the Go Rewards!!! Soo, reconning will not be necessary. Smiley Wink

Yeah, I applied late yesterday evening, so the 0% for 6 months was already active on the website.

Just as an update, they said no to the Flagship Visa.  They also said I may qualify for the goRewards and that they'd use the same credit report if I wanted to apply, so I said why not, and threw in another application.

Of course, I got hit with a 24 hour review and another inquiry.   I'll see what they do on this one, and if I get the card, I'll let it lie.  If I don't, I'll ask them to remove the new inquiry.

I'm sorry the Flagship didn't work out.  Smiley Sad

There's much more comprehensive information on reconning with NFCU in the "mega" threads we have over in 'Credit Card Applications', however I'll mention here that many have reported being successful with a recon by providing a couple of paystubs in a secure message (you can attach the image(s) and send them with your secure message).

As far as I know, the underwriting is the same on all of their cards with the exception that the Flagship requires the account to be approved for a $5k minimum credit line... that they mentioned that you might consider the goRewards makes me think you might have luck with a recon (again, the general consensus is to provide two paystubs up-front).

Re: Which NFCU Card To Apply For?

Are you suggesting that I should attempt another recon for the Flagship, or are you referring to a recon for the goRewards if they decline again?

I have no problems with supplying paystubs for a recon if it comes to that.  I don't overstate my income.  Its just not worth the off chance that somebody will want verification!

Re: Which NFCU Card To Apply For?

If I were you I would try recon for the flagship and just preemptively provide your paystubs. Best way to do it would be via Secure message. The Member reps who handle those messages have more to follow up with underwriting.

Done.  Was honest about why I wanted the card and Provided two paystubs, as well thee screen grabs of  cards that are now at $0 even though they won't report for another month.  Because...what can it hurt?

+1

This is exactly what I meant.  Smiley Happy

I apologize if I was unclear in my previous post.  The other threads are full of success stories where people handled the recon exactly as tydawg suggests above.  Smiley Wink

If it still doesn't work out, though, don't be discouraged... there are also many posts/threads where people were denied only to get an approval a few months later.

Re: Which NFCU Card To Apply For?

Well, I must have given them food for thought, because we're past the 24 hour review period, and still no decision!

Maybe I'll wake up to a nice surprise tomorrow!  That's what I choose to think, anyway.  lol

Re: Which NFCU Card To Apply For?

And..... I had a nice surprise to wake up to!

Woke up to go get a drink of water... Saw the LED on my phone blinking green, which means email.  Being the zombie I normally am at 2am, I just automatically picked it up after a big gulp and looked at it, and ALMOST (not quite) did a tv sitcom "spit take,"

Approved for the goRewareds, $14,200.  Interest rate of 15.24% is a little high compared to others I've seen on here, but a full 3 points lower than my lowest current card.

The jist of their response to the secure message was "Thank you for the detailed explanation of your credit history and your paystubs.  You have been approved for the goRewards card.  We offer product changes, so if you would like to change to the Signature Flagship, please call us."  I don't really see the need to do that, unless I was able to get the now expired 0% deal.  The fine print was pretty clear that BT requests needed to be accepted by 11/1...  We'll see what I think in the morning when I am more away.  lol

I'll gush a bit more over in Approvals, but thanks to you guys for nudging me to keep going with a second recon attempt!
