No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
You have zero utilization so your scores will be untouched by closing the vulture cards. Honestly, getting rid of them may help you. They'll still be visible to future lenders but the fact that you closed them, have some good cards, and have all your chargeoffs paid will be a good look. I'd dump every subprime card you have without a second's hesitation and move forward with the rest.
Also, whichever of your non-junk cards reports next, allow it to report a $10 balance. Once the statement cuts, pay it off. Repeat each month going forward. This is called AZEO, All Zero Except One. It's good for 10-20 points across the board.
I agree with @Anonymous your utilization will not be change if you keep your other balances low.
Should i go ahead and close them?Their annual fee is awful. Also I need to close one Cap 1 because I want to get Cap 1 Venture but they won't allow you to get 3 cards from them.I always pay off credit cards before statement cuts.

I would. Typical wisdom is to not close a card in the first year you have it, but that's so as to not annoy that lender and possibly make it harder to get future cards or SUBs from them. In the case of your subprimes, I'd dump them and not give a darn what they think. Any care I might've had for them would have been eaten by their BS fees.
You can close one or more CapOnes too if you like, but before taking yet another triple HP, investigate other travel cards. You will likely find better ones with fewer pulls and much more growth potential...long as you garden awhile
I m closing them tomorrow. I will wait another 6 months and try a new card.
Good plan, but check prequals before apping. You have a lot of pulls and don't want to rack them up needlessly.
Close youur Credit One accounts
Wait 6 months for some of those inquiries to dry up
Stay away from anyting Chase
@murat533 definitely get a BofA account. Re-establishing a relationship with them could payoff down the road...which is where your head should be--down the road. There is no need to take any actions now aside from just making sure all accounts are paid on time and aging. Think of it this way, at the moment you want to get rid of the Credit One accounts...previoulsy you wanted those cards, just like you want others now.
How much are the fee's on those cards? I don't have any experience with them, but if the fee's aren't incredibly high, I would consider keeping them for another year. At least keep them open up until your next annual fee. I don't see the benefit in closing them unless the fee's are insanely high. Even if you're not concerned about your UTI, you still have to consider your AAoA. Closing any accounts will effect this.
Also, please know that just because your score reaches 700, it doesn't mean that you'll qualify for anything more than you qualify for now. Your scores shouldn't be your focus. Scores are just a metric, there are more important variables that lenders will consider. You could have a 750, but if you have 24 inq's in the last 12 months you'll still have a challenging time. Best thing you can do is just chill in the garden for 6-12 months.
@Anonymous I'm curious, aside from eliminating fee's, why do you believe that it would help his cause to close the subprime accounts? How will that help specifically?
@murat533 I agree with @Anonymous regarding the possibility of better travel reward cards. If you're able to get back in bed with BofA, their Travel Rewards card is strong...plus Amex has great travel cards.
However, I'm of the opinion that shouldn't close the Cap 1 acount anytime soon. It doesn't help your cause...it only slows you down, just becuase you want a different card. Does Cap1 allow upgrades/converts? That's a much better play. The last thing you need is to show more and more volatility within your reports. You need as much stabilization as possible. Garden. Age, grow, and allow those inq's to fall off.
