First, thank you to all contributing members. Information posted here has seemingly opened a whole new world to me.
Since joining My Fico 8 scores have gone like this:
TU = 659 EQ= 693 EXP= 693 December 2015
TU= 680 EQ= 697 EXP= 729 Today
Have one judgement from April 2013 and paid charge off from July 2012. EXP has removed CO.
History-
Capital One Platinum from 2008 just got bumped from $1500 CL to $3000 and upgraded to QS1. Using and paying off every month.
Authorized user on several accounts:
Cabelas Visa 15k
Brooks Bros MC 15k
Amex Blue 10.1k
Cap One 4.5k
All accounts have zero to little balance. All helping AAOA. Never late on any cards.
I will be applying for a mortgage in about a year, but would like to get a few more CC's. I will be traveling over the next month with around 5k spend planned. Would like the Marriott card but not sure if I would qualify? Maybe Freedom and Marriott double app with one pull?
Pre-Approvals-
Cap One Venture 13.24% firm on site
Venture One 12.24%
Quicksilver 13.24%
Citi Diamond Preferred 13.24% from the mail
Chase Freedom 24%
Chase Slate 24%
Southwest 15.99% mail offer
No CSP offer though? Why Freedom/Slate & no CSP?
Amex/Discover sites I don't trust, but Amex would pull EXP I believe.
I have also recently become a member of NFCU and that is my only HP in the last two years on TU. Any help anyone could give me would be appreciated.. thanks.
Can't really tell you what you should apply for. That will come down to your personal needs and what you value most from a rewards perspective.
If you haven't opened 5 new acts in the last 2 years I would apply for the Freedom or CSP first because the 5/24 rule. If you want the Marriott apply for it. Considering you're pre-qualed for Slate and Freedom I would feel comfortable applying for it as its a co-branded card. I was approved for my csp with scores in the 670 range but it showed as a pre-qual on the site at the time of app.
You might be able to swing the good old 2 for 1 app with both Chase and Cap 1, but no guarantees.
If you have a pre-qual on the Amex site it should be pretty solid and they will pull Experian.
Within your preapprovals alone You've got a few good combinations of cards you can go with to maximize your rewards. If you can get the CSP or Marriott approvals, even better. Just be mindful of the spend requirements for the signing bonuses of the cards that you apply for.

first set of Apps
1) Freedom
2) Marriot or Southwest
Second apps
1) NFCU . Pick a card you like
Third Apps
1) Venture
2) Quicksilver
do them all thru the Prequal... Your spend on your trip will allow you to meet most of your spend and you can
finish up when you get back from your trip by paying your monthly bills and shopping.
App soon so you will get the cards in time before you leave for the trip
NOTE : after 30 days pass, go back and grab CSP before Capital One cards report. Then garden
You will be good to go. Your accounts and inquiries will have 1 year under their belts
and you will recoup any loss by then.
GL with your apps and keep us posted

Ghost paws let me know how CSP goes for u. I would love it but I might stick with freedom for now even though 24% apr is awful.
No problem I definitely will!
That's the APR I was seeing on the website prequal too. I ended up getting 19.3 because I used the mailer invitation instead. Not great but better and it's a start.
I'll probably have something shortly. 7-10 business days isn't always a denial as of late so I'm trying to be hopeful.
I just received alerts from my fico and all three scores updated my payment on my Cap One.
EXP up 4 points to 733
EQ up 6 points to 703
TU UP 40 POINTS!! to 720 They finally must have removed my chargeoff. Unreal.....
Should I still app now for cards or wait until any of the prequal sites update? Hate to have them look at old scores.
I would app now, still go thru the prequal on the sites to do so. You want to get these cards before you leave on your trip
so you can get the spend bonus on them with what your going to be spending . GOOOOOO !!!!
