Why can I only get Synchrony MC/Visas in store?

I was recently approved for a couple MCs in store. Tried old navy online and just store card. Seems they only do the MCand Visa approvals in store?

Sorry you are having difficulty. Visa and Mastercard approvals really depend on your overall profile, and are harder to get with Synchrony.

I was approved for all of my Synchrony Visas and Mastercards online ( 5 cards with Synchrony), including my AEO Visa.

It's just so strange I can't get approved for them online but can in store lol

On the bright side, If your profile improves when you log in online it will likely give you the option to "upgrade" to the VISA/MC version if you care for it.

American Eagle was one of my first cards and after a year I got this option often, though I always denied as it closes the current card and opens a new one (to my knowledge).

There is stricter (seemingly) verification in store so they can do more face to face than they can online. You can call Credit Solutions to get your card upgraded. They may or may not do it. I have had a few customers try it and be successful. (I have worked for Gap Inc for 10 years now)

+1. It is weird. I only could get approved for Visa/MC inside the store such as AE, BR, Tjmaxx etc. By the way, I only could get approved for $400.

So, not the smartest thing but I applied for old navy a few weeks ago online and only got $400 store card. Wasn't happy with that so I closed it. Mulled it over and thought what the hell, let me take a trip to old navy in town and buy some things and give it a shot at the register. Approved for the visa $1800 so screwy!
