amex credit approval

I have 736 EQ, 720 TU and 736 EX. I had a chargeoff off 500 with amex that is now off my crdit report. I tried to prequalify using google chrome browser and had no matched offers. But when I try the prequalify tool using safari I get matched with the delta gold card. Can anyone tell me how accurate it would be? I currently have citi double cash 3000 and apple card 3000 CL.

Only way to know is to go for it. Amex has a very long memory but if it’s been that long for a small amount you’d probably be approved. You may however only get in with a $1000 limit and find some difficulty growing it.

When it comes to chargeoffs that were never later settled in full AMEX' memory extends at least 10 years. 

You can find out if you're still blacklisted by applying.  A denial with no HP means you're still on the blacklist.

One can be prequalified by AMEX even if on the blacklist but there would still be a denial upon applying.

In that case OP, you could contact Amex and offer to pay them what you owe to clear the slate, and then try again in a couple months. People have gotten back in that way.

Amex is known to be far more amenable to second chances if past balances are paid. Being a small balance and you offering to pay it in full on your own will likely work out well for you. Let us know how it goes
