Re: amex low limit

Mine started at 2k in July 2013. I proceeded to flog it for nearly everything, PIF every month, and a year later they gave me an auto CLI to $3k, before I came here and learned of the 3X CLI request.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

Yes. you try. but known fact. 6 months across all accounts. since you just got 1. it will be 6 months from that date. not the date you got card. and sorry in most cases. that 1k limit. is usually denied increase. but hey. you already have great card. i think you can move some limit over from your other. to delta. but that might have to be 6 months old i think. not sure on that.

Not going to bother requesting CLI's on my delta.. Will just move some of my limit from My ED over to delta if ever needed... Was planning on cancelling delta after year, but due to MSD w/regards to CB's being gone I will be keeping it as the age is important to me athough it remains on your CB for 10 years, still worth fee..  Then just request the 3x on the ED or whatever future card I have.  1k is kinda a pain to use on my delta.. I use it once a month for a 10-30 dollar purchase is all.  ED on the other hand probably put 800 a month through on it.. When I can't find another card that offer better I use the ED. 13 month before a card can become a donor, so not able to move the limits for awhile,if I so choose

Since you just got the Hilton CLI a month ago, it will be a no-go for trying to bump this one at activation: You will need to wait 5 months before either the Hilton or this new card get another CLI. And, you cannot move the Hilton CL to this card until that CL has aged 13 statements.

Them's just the facts.

 +1

You can try, it will not reset the clock, but you need to wait 6 months from your last CLI approval. I hope they will change the rule to 6 months for each card in the future.

You are right...you better wait...But 1k credit line, that's minus 175.00 AF, leaves you enough to buy chewing gum.
