Good morning everyone.
I opened my first american express credit card last year, blue cash everyday, currently 35,000 credit limit. I would like to know if I apply for the cash magnet card this year, would that be an income verification or financial review?
What is the maximum limit on american express credit cards, not charge cards, or there is no such thing as maximum credit limit on american express credit cards?
What is the maximum total combined credit limit exposure across all cards for an individual with american express, or there is no such limit?
Thank you everyone.
I really do not know which label best fits this post, sorry.
Can you tell me why my post has been marked as a spam?

It will not be a financial review since that is reserved more for the "questionable behavior" aspect according to AMEX. A few examples of this would be manufactured spending and returned payments. Normally with that you'd see accounts being suspended til you comply with tax information being disclosed to verify income. Failure to do so results in account closure
For income verificaiton it is possible but unlike a financial review is entirely voluntary. If you do not wish to submit to IV then nothing will happen as a result
TBH I expect if they approve your credit card application and AMEX feels they've extended enough credit they may just allocate it from your Blue Cash Everyday card and give you an approval that way. You won't know til you try

I believe the soft limit is four revolvers credit cards you can hold at any one time. It is possible to hold more than four but it YMMV with each person. Presumably the better where your credit stands the better chance you have on having more than four.

There is no limit from posts I've read on here. It really varies from person to person. I have read/seen approvals where they extended a person their entire yearly income in credit lines, others a percentage of that, and everything else in between. Just really depends on the strength of your credit profile. And that is just for personal cards. You get into the business cards where if you have a biz that necessitates a lot of spend then it can climb up there. Of course at that point it may be better to get one of the charge cards for the spending power
Thank you everyone.

Thank you, very much.
The second question, you answered "four revolvers credit cards." Sorry my English skill is not good, what I mean is what is the maximum credit limit for american express credit card, excluding charge card? For example, My Pentagon card has maximum credit limit is 25,000 on single card and 50,000 on total cards, that is the supervisor told me, no matter how good is my credit. I read here that in american express more than 35,000 will result in income or finance review. I have been request 5,000 credit limit increase every six months, and so far so good. I would like to know if there is an end or I can just continue to request 5,000 every six months. I have never read anything about maximum credit limit on single american express credit card or total american express cards combined, excluding charge card, so I just want to ask about this, or that information was never available to the public. Sorry my English is no good.
Your English is just fine - it's an awful language for a non-native speaker to learn I'm sure, don't sweat it a bit ![]()
As for a single card maximum, it'll simply come down to your profile and income. Amex will extend whatever they're comfortable you can repay, and you'll know what that number is when they stop giving you increases. That's really the only way to know.

Thank you very much.
