cap1 pre qualification letters

today i got my 3rd cap1 quicksivler offer in the mail.   1.5% cash back $0 annual fee & $0 APR until feb 2023.

ive ignored them and didnt bother until i got this 3rd one.  its the same offer as the others except the invite codes are different.   3rd time a charm....

i have cards with cap1 already.  im approaching 2years since my first "after bk" starter card with them.  ive since aquired a walmart mastercard and a quicksilver.  i think they are all bucket cards. cap1 absolutely wont budge on CLI's.  my quicksilver has been stuck at $400 since opening one year ago this month.  each month after the statement cycles i wait 1 day then ask for a CLI. each time its a hell no.  various reasons given make no sense but still, a no.    my starter platinum card was upgraded to a venture 1 card and has a 4k credit limit.  i assume its bucketed too. only 1 cli on that card and that was over a year ago for $300.

is there a way to know if these new cap1 offers are starter rebuild cards with no growth and forever low limits?   my credit has improved since opening the cap1 cards.  ive been able to aquire a few 6k+ credit limit cards.     im hoping cap1 will finally scoop me out of the bucket, which is very frustrating considering the spend & payoff i do.

Re: cap1 pre qualification letters

Once a bucket always a bucket. Years ago things were different with the starter cars. Now? Kinda stuck. I'd go after other lenders who will approve you for better SL's and APR's. Shred it. Remember the ole triple pull.

Re: cap1 pre qualification letters

I'd second "shred it". The only way to know is to apply, and reject the offer if its too low. Up until they ghosted me, I would get one of those envelopes every couple months, even after I already had the QS. I think they *are* serious, but who knows with the limits and thier "plan" for you.

There are better product out there. The only Cap1 product I would consider at this point would be a VentureX, as it fits my travel needs.
