Hi. I started my credit journey a little over a year ago and was looking into getting a decent travel rewards card. I am pre-approved for amex plat and citi thank you premier but my research showed that the chase reserve would maximize the rewards for my spend. Now looking to find out my chances and I hope you guys can help out as I'm not getting any pre-approvals from chase.
I have a credit card from my credit union with a 20k CL for 1 year. I also have the amex BCP for 1 year (starting CL 8k, now 20k) that I got based on previous card with amex in EU. I'm also an AU on a store card (CL 1.5k). AAoA is 11.5 months, EX FICO is 738, vantagescores from TU and EQ are 753 with all on-time payments and nothing bad except for short history. Income is over 180k. Do I have a shot at the reserve? If not, should I hold out or take one of my other pre-approvals?
Are you close to a Chase Bank branch? If so, go in and ask to speak with a Personal Banker. Give them your details and they'll advise you on your approval odds. They may even have pre- approval for other Chase products that you can use to bank Reward points until you get the Sapphire Reserve.
Can I do that without having any chase account?

Yes.
Ultimately decided to apply. They pulled EX (739) and EQ (748), with TU being at 775. I initially got the 30 day message. It then changed to 7-10 days this morning so I decided to call recon to check status. They informed me they wanted a copy of my ssn so I immediately faxed it over to them. How likely do you guys think I'll get an approval? Should I follow up with them (I read in previous posts that sometimes the fax quality isn't good) and if so, when?

Called in to check if the copy was received. Analyst confirmed and then approved me for 31k
Wow!! Congrats.. That's my goal card.. Can't wait to go below 5/24 this coming fall..
Congratulations on getting your CSR! That is an OUTSTANDING SL that will grow over time.

Nicely done. $31K is a very good SL for Chase.
