A long time ago, i messed around and got into a lot of cc debt.
one was with chase. and i settled with them.
its been about 4.5 years since i settled.
ive applied once early last year, and i think once 2 years ago. both times, i was denied.
i was in the high 670s then.
I've slowly built up my score back up to the 730s.
my questions:
Will chase forever ban me from getting a credit card with them?
I know credit entries take 7 years to disappear, but im sure chase will keep a record of my chargeoff forever, since its their on record.
Should I wait comepletely until it dropss off my report?

It makes no difference whether it drops off you reports or not if they have it on their internal system. Good news is you settled and paid. Members on here have gotten back with them but it did take awhile and for some on here they were not able to get back in yet. It will take some time but you may want to give the analyst a call and see what they say about your situation.

Chase has a long internal memory.
thanks for all the tips and experiences.
i didnt pay off in full, and i feel like thats whats causing the most damage. I did try calling them and asking them if i can pay the difference, but they said theres no way to update their internal records, and that id be just wasting my money.
No one could give me a straight answer about applying for card. Ive tried to apply for chase cards last year, and was denied.
according to credit karma, my TU is 744 and EQ is 739.
i can try calling again, but i feel like im just going to get the run around.
