I thought all commenity store cards were soft pulls when hitting the CLI button. I'm not hitting that button anymore if it's an HP. Anyone else getting HPs for CLI button??
needtodobetter....did you at least get some luv for your HP??
I did for the Loft. Did not on VS- "card too new" - it just had the 6th statement cut and I hear no luv until 9 months or so for VS.
FYI - the HP is completely new for me - it was SP the other times I have hit it (for Loft/Ann Taylor).

That's good info to know. Thanks for sharing it!

I applied for a express store card. I tried the sct but no popup. I figured they checked equifax but my equifax was frozen but I saw a soft inquiry from them. I guess the full application is only a soft pull cause it was the same day I full applied. not the sctThis is the single most useless card comenity issues. it has grown to $2k while JCrew has grown to $15k just under 2 years.
That's subjective. I shop there all the time, so getting rewarded to do it doesn't hurt.

I wasn't approved for the express card. too many inquiries. well as least in wasn't a hard pull
I saw the offer at the beginning of my spree a couple of weeks ago. I am willing to bet that if I had waited until this week, I would probably have been denied too. Thankfully, I don't need any more cards for awhile. I need to let the ones I just got grow a bit.

i finally got the Express pop-up under the Safari web browser after months of trying. I've been stuck at my SL of $350 for over a year. I use my card mainly to purchase jewelry. However, last month I had a balance of $21 on it and purchase 2 items for my son, balance went up to $97 and my Equifax dropped 33 points!
What is the shopping cart trick?
@CostantinoA wrote:What is the shopping cart trick?
It's not really a 'trick'. Basically, when you're on a website shopping (like Express in my case), you may be offered a store charge card at check out.
How it basically works:
1- pick items to purchase that go into your 'shopping cart'.
2- click on the check out button and enter your shipping info
3- once you enter this info, it is enough information about you for the company to 'soft pull' your credit. If it meets their guidelines, they will offer your a charge card which will most likely result in an instant approval so that you can charge the order currently in your shopping cart too.
A lot of people will go to store websites and add stuff to the shopping cart without any intention of purchasing it, so that they can click on 'check out' and add their shipping info just to see if they can get approved by the company without wasting a hard pull on their credit report for a card they won't be approved for.
hmm thank you for the reply
