so i need another card and i decided to give them a shot.......i dont know where they pull from ( CRA) but anyway got about 5 different card offers from them......longtime residence and work history, nothing bad on my credit and my fico 8 score is around 710 with experian being 685....my credit card and auto specific score are typically higher (alot) on many.....so how solid is the pre approval on their site?.......thanks in advance
They reliably pull Experian FICO 8. Their prequals are generally reliable with good odds of approval although if your report is clean a FICO 8 score of 685 suggests you've got something like high utilization going on with your current cards.
That score often gets someone approved at not-the-lowest APR, but the reason why the score is a 685 does matter.

Their prequalifications are pretty solid, unless your score has gone down since the soft pull that generated it.
I did the prequalification through AMEX and ended up applying for the BCP last friday, instant approval. My experian score was pretty low-651, and this was my first application and HP in over a year. I would say the prequal is pretty solid here.
I prequalified for the Gold and Platinum on 11/22/2020 with around a 670 Experian. I applied for the Gold and was denied due to utilization. I waited around 60 days and decreased utilization below 10%. I prequalified for the same two cards again on 1/18/21; applied and approved for Gold at 683 ExF8.

I have a new thin file but did just get dinged 20 pts for 13% util on the 2 cards i have, nothing bad on my report.....100% clean.....prequal was with 20 pt deduction already included, had 1 card a year and other for 4 months, should i wait til next month when i can get my util under 10%?...........last night i just figured i give it a shot on their site and 5 cards came up as pre qualified
Odds are pretty good (not guaranteed though) with a pre-qual. But not having a pre-qual isn't bad either. Many folks have gotten approved on here without one. Go for the card you want/need. Good luck!
thanks everyone, i will decide soon.....i figured the same but know many here already have been down all the roads i havent been.....
yep, got approved for preferred everday cash card......soon as hit the submit button i was like man i should have waited, lol......just wanted 3 cards to help fico algorithm....
