Hello everyone, need some advice here. trying to find a good credit card that just pulls TU (since i am app free for over an year in TU - last was June 2013 for Chase, got CSP with a sweet $20K limit). i am a scoromaniac and check scores on many sites.. almost an OCD level.. here are my TU scores and their sources..
Free TU scores from Walmart, Discover, CapitalOne
Paid TU scores from transuniononline.com; CSecure (Amex)
softpull - Lending Club for loan of $24K @ 8.09% APR
when i check my scores at transuniononline.com, they are about 75% (of max 990) and it is just improving after bringing my % UTIL down to 15% in Nov due to Lendingclub loan. just before this, i got denied for CLI from Walmart (once in May 2014, SP, letter say 701/850 and once in Nov 2014, SP, letter say score is 721/850)., what do i need to do to increase by CLI? i can open a CC but I may not get another $20K limit which will keep my % UTIL down., i need to do something before the Lendingclub personal loan hits the books and bring my scores down. my current AoAA is just shy of 5 years.
any suggestions?

There have been multiple threads about which banks only pull TU. Do a search and you'll easily find them but Barclays is the most prominent.
Yes, i went through the search and found few TU only (e.g. Barclays)., my question was also about approval chances for a nice card with high limit
based on my scores, i was expecting a CLI from Sync/walmart but got denied twice - is there a new policy that they are not giving higher lines? if this is the new norm, should i waste another HP on barclays?
call it a sign, but yesterday evening, i did get a preapproval in mail for Barclay Rewards MC (not arrival or arrival+)., so, i am thinking to wait for another month and see if i can go for the arrival+ (may be i will end up with at least arrival) - which have much better rewards than just the Barclay rewards MC from what i understand.

My apologies for not answering your question. It's so difficult to predict credit limits especially without knowing your current cards/limits and income. Your scores are plenty good enough to get approvals but if you read this forum long enough you will see people being declined with high scores because of excessive inqs, too much credit, utilization, etc etc. Sadly sometimes the only way to know for sure is to apply and take the inquiry.
as for Synchrony, they still give out CLIs but a lot of times it depends on the particular card. A lot of people, including myself, have found that your best bet for a CLI is via chat.
id say give it a shot with Barclays for the card you want.
Thanks for the response Irish80;
i have 22 open credit lines out of which i SDed a lot of cards..
5 store cards (Dell $6500/Lowes $4700/Macys $2000/Best Buy $750/Kohls $400) - only use best buy card for bonus points...
17 Credit Cards (CSP $20000/FNBO $14700/BOA CashR $12500/Amex Delta $12500/Disc IT $8000/Walmart $7500/WF Financial $7000/Chase Freeedom $2000) - rest of cards are below $1250 limits, lowest being $550 for Frist Premier Bank Card with $35 AF and 30% APR - sucker is my oldest and i can't hurt my AoAA
recently, i am hearing "too much credit" and i may have triggered that.. my UTIL is 15% with total CLimit of above $110K; i need new cards from time to time to get the intro 0% APR where i move all my balances. my daily use go to cards are CSP or Amex Delta (Costco). for e.g. i SDed Disc after their 18 month 0% promo is over. same story with FNBO which is stashed away after its 15 month intro APR. only BOA still offers some 0% offers for 12 months but others are almost of no use.
i may need to a new strategy now. can't keep opening new credit lines for 0% intros and then SD them. my overall credit is exceeding the 'alarm' levels.

I would close that FP card and put several .45" diameter holes in it.
forgot to mention.. regarding # of enquiries..
i learned long time ago and follow it religiously - not to have more than 2 inq., with any credit agency in a 2 year rolling average. if you haven't noticed from my siggy, i am borderline maniac on credit scores
its time to shake the TU as it dropped its Nov 2012 Walmart inq ..
Nixon, totally agree... lookng at that card pains me.. i am just waiting for May 2015 when the time for another $35 comes about.. i plan special 2 hour session with that cards (i also kept all the old expired FPB cards) so that i can unleash scissors, a 19,2V drill bit and last but not least a CC shredder.. hmnn.. awesome feeling

If you do this using a proper “Hole Puncher”, the holes would be .452" at minimum (smooth bore) or about .468" upon exiting the rifling of a Colt 1911....AAoA be dammed!
