Hey everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else on forum has run into this problem. I applied for the new costco/citi card the day it became available. I guess that was about 2-3 weeks ago. I filled in the app, hit submit, and I got the dreaded "we'll get back to you" message.
I'm not sure what the problem could be. My score is 790-something and I have little debt. I've called Citi twice and both times (including today) and was told I'll just have to wait because the application is still processing.
Anyone else run into this? I see a lot of posts about people waiting forever to get their already approved cards, but nothing about this.
TIA.

It could be that they were backed up but I applied way the day after and I have already received my card.
I had almost the exact same experience with my Citi Diamond Preferred card... I called them after well over two weeks just to be told they were still working on it.
The very next day I got an email saying guess what? "We need you to call us". No problem <sigh>... I called and after getting me to read-off some of the information I had put on the application and then calling me back on my mobile phone, they approved me.
I know it's annoying, but I suspect it's actually a good sign... it was for me!
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I called again this morning, got the same response: "we received a lot of applications and we're still processing them." Sigh!
So, after almost a month of silence, Citi sent me an email yesterday afternoon saying my application was incomplete and I needed to call them. (Yep, I'd already called them three times and each time they said they had everything they needed.)
But get this... before I could even call Citi another email came in with an approval. So, about a month later, magically approved!
It ended up working out, but what a mess!
Sory this is taking so long at least it is not a denial, hang in there
