pre-approval question

I am geting ready to go on a spree. Well... April 12th ish after I close on my house.

I am "pre-approved"... however valid that is for a Discover as well as an AMEX

Is there a way to know if I am pre-approved at Lowes and should I only apply at the ones that say Im pre-approved. or...

need some advise so I dont apply for 10 cards to get the 7-10 day notice when I could get 3 solid cards I need

Thanks,

Scott

Re: pre-approval question

I'm assuming all of your cards were opened in October 17'? You will have 6 months positive reporting by April(ish) so you should be good to go with the Lowes card by then. As far as I know Synch bank doesn't do pre-approval for Lowes CC. I was approved with 660's TU and a Tax Lien (which I still have). They started me with a $500 limit and it grew 20 17k in a year or two with never a CLD.

When it comes to Spree's (IMO) you have to be careful not to spook your lenders. All of my early spree's were done with 6 months clean reporting on my CR's. 4 CC's and an installment was my limit and they were cards I really wanted. Round 2 (the spree you are on) I focused on cards with 5k minimum starting limits, or that would grow fast, or offered a bonus I needed.

Here is my build... If  you read the chart from right to left, you can see when I opened all my accounts in a timeline.

Congrats on the new home, GL  :]

Re: pre-approval question

Hey Elim. I like the chart. In the index it says darker green is for "age". And lighter shade of green is for "closed for"... That's all it says. What was it supposed to say? Or is it supposed to say just that? Was kinda confused by that part but other than that I can dig it!

The lighter green shows closed duration. All the accounts at the bottom of the chart are closed accounts, the lighter green just shows how long they have been closed.

Anyone can make a copy of my sheet and use/edit/change it. Feel free @Anonymous. It has worked for me for 4 years.  :]  great for a build/rebuild.

Only edit the light green, all the dark green is auto (bunch of nice data and charts). It's a Google Sheet so you can learn how to manipulate them pretty easy online.

Re: pre-approval question

Ok I see what you did there. They are listed in order of app. And instead of showing open age you just picked up where you left off with the other cards. I got ya now. Makes more sense now to me. Idk if my sentence will make any sense to you but basically I understand what you did now. I might try it one day. Thanks. Frankly I'm more interested in trying ABCD's garden countdown because similar to him I'd like to garden for 2 years straight. Thank you though. Whenever I get time I may give it a shot.

Re: pre-approval question

elim: Really like your timeline. Do you have something similar for starting dates, SCL, CLI, and current CLI?

Sorry for the off-topic but sheets played a huge part of my rebuild success.

@Anonymous you can chart anything in sheets, here's your example and link to actual sheet below. plenty of youtube help.

Re: pre-approval question

Created a similar version based on your chart @Elim but mine is not as satisfying because some of the start dates are the same so the lines overlap Smiley Sad
