@bRICrEAW Ah, I see,

I use the American Express (AMEX) Amazon Business Prime card for all my Amazon purchases. I would have applied for the Chase card, but Chase and I don't really get along much anymore. IMHO, I also don't like Chase's entitlement with its consumers; I cannot be tip-toeing around my card usage, etc. Maybe one day I'll jump back into the Chase ecosystem, but for right now, AMEX and USB are treating me respectfully.

I digress; SYNBank can be sticky about Sagestream. I personally didn't have issues with my Sagestream reports frozen when I applied for the Rakuten Card. The only issue I had was with the USB Checking account and 3rd form of verification. I unfroze it for the bank account verification and immediately froze it back.

Not surprising you had an issue with USBank as they are another regular SageStream puller.

Re: sagestream report and credit card applications

@coldfusion, Right! It was a bit frustrating because USB does those 7+ business day manual verifications. So I waited for dayyysss to be told "Ah unfreeze Sagestream" and re-apply. Like Ummm, somebody over the multiple phone calls couldn't have told me this on day one. Nah, okay lol.

What was the outcome of your attempts to correct the bogus information being reported by Sagestream?

I had thought about trying to do something about it,  but I ended up just freezing it. the score was low and I didn't feel certain it would improve very much if I attempted to do anything about it. I also read what everyone else was saying about how their scores were low too and it was outrageous. The reasons synchrony denied me based on sagestream were ridiculous. I ultimately just froze it because it seemed easier and no one would be looking at it anyway if frozen.  it was also the first time I had heard of them. I didn't know if that was problematic for a lot of people that it was frozen because I had not heard of anyone having this issue until I was denied myself. I did want the Amazon credit card but I am blacklisted by Chase. It seemed like a good idea to try for the store card and I thought it would be easy to get approved.

I suggest you pull a copy of your report and dispute off the incorrect information.  That will allow you to unfreeze your report at your discretion later if and when you choose to apply for additional cards without first needing to postpone your application(s) because you need to check and clean up your report.

I find that interesting.

I got a USB checking account a few months ago with SageStream frozen and had zero issue. Instant approval and opening.

Did you also app for credit products, perhaps? CLOC or overdraft protection?

I did find an OLD denial email that included Sagestream reports as a denial reason (from years ago) and to my shock my SS score was 720 lol yet listed 5 negative reasons why they denied me. Makes ZERO sense my score was that high with all thise lovely negative reason codes! At least half of them were false!

Low income? Hardly, at least by average standards. Not saying I was "high" income or anything, but do not believe it was "too low".

Short employment history? I think not! I only had a singular place of employment at that point my entire adult life, so 14+ years is "short"???

Too many inquiries? Maybe? I dont recal being app crazy, so that one may be true.

The rest is true. I had hit a terrible rough patch in my life, but kept working.

Re: sagestream report and credit card applications

@Anonymous, I know; I did some serious research before opening the USB checking account. When it wasn't instantly approved, I called, and they gave me the usual "selected for manual review". Then the day's later, I got an email from some "special" top secret department no one can directly call, giving me a list of reports that MUST be unfrozen to be approved for a USB Checking account.

I created a post about it here.

Negative, no other products except the USB Checking account online for the SUB and relationship building.

That is really interesting! I signed up for the same reason - the SUB. I wonder why I wasn't "dinged" for SS being frozen? I only opened it a couple months ago. Got the SUB credited a couple weeks after opening.

Right, the only thing I can say is USB has gone against most all DP's for my location. Pulled EX for CC application, needed SS unfrozen for Checking application approval, and I'm sure they will pull EX for a CLI. I'll post that once I do it.
