I was thinking of applying for the AmEx BCP, but when I go to the site, it won't offer me the option. I have an upgrade offer to change my Cash Magnet into the BCP, but that's the only option it gives. I did have the BCE before (now closed), and I think I got a SUB for it so I may not be eligible for the BCP, but that's fine. I just want it for the 6% groceries as I have a large family, but also to keep my Cash Magnet because I'm happy with it. Is there any way to app for it? Or if I go ahead and upgrade, can I then re-apply for the Cash Magnet?
I'm sure someone will tell me to upgrade and then just app for a different 1.5% (or 2%) general spend card for a bonus or whatever, but I would prefer not to do that. I know there's a chance AmEx may hard pull me for a new card too, but at least with them there's a good chance for a soft pull versus an absolute hard pull from someone else. There is one other card I've considered applying for in 2-3 months from a lender that is more inquiry sensitive and if I can limit those I want to try in case I decide to go for it.
