Not true necessarily. It's believed that at a certain point one incurs the a maximum [Fico score] penalty from inquiries. This number may be around (say) 14 inquiries on a bureau. Another member above on a previous page referenced 9 inquiries being his max in terms of scoring penalty. Once that number (whatever it is) of inquiries in 365 days is reached, many individuals have reported no further score drops from adding additional inquiries. That being said, two people could possess the exact same Fico score where one has 20 inquiries and another has 100 inquiries, all other things being equal with respect to their profiles. I think we can all agree though that in terms of credit-seeking and risk upon a MR, the person with the 100 inquiries would be viewed a bit differently than the person with 20 inquiries, even though their scores were the same. This is just another example of how Fico score in and of itself doesn't tell the whole story and that profile > score.
My Wal-mart CC sat at $6k for over a year, with all denied CLIs, 727 Tu Fico 8. It was not until I had 3 negative/closed accounts that were removed from my Transunion report, that I was able to get a recent CLI from Snych on all 5 of my accounts with them, and keep in mind, my score did not rise by much (it's only a 743 today). So, I believe my CLI were granted due to the removal of the negative accounts, and not so much of the increase in score. This is just my belief! My negative reason code has dropped the "Serious Delinquency," and now reflects "Too many accounts with late payments." (Wording is not exact, taken from Snych letter). Your increase is coming soon, be patient!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong (By showing a recent CLI) but seems like Syncrony put a Freeze on Walmart cards. by freeze I mean No CLI, though don't know about new accounts. all due to the upcoming takeover by capital one.
Reason I say that is because I have 3 Sync Cards. Wally, Amazon, and Paypal.
These requests was done 6/16/19
Current Limit $500... I put in a request for 5k for wally first Denied
Current then limit $600... I put in a request for Amazon for 5k (Not ready to reach for the stars with 25k request yet)... Countered with $3000
Current then limit $1000... I put in a request for Paypal for 5k (Not ready to reach for the stars with 25k request yet)... Countered with $3500
which leads me to believe that there is a hold on CLI and possibly new wally accounts.
I also don't know when they stopped doing CLI perhaps gramps and I Just missed the Cutoff. who knows.
I don't think that's the case , my DH just got one on his Wally card on 6/11/19, so unless in the last week they have shut it down, I don't think that's it.
Maybe 6/15/19 was the cutoff?
I'm waiting for my denial letter to see what it says. In the meantime if anyone got a CLI and/or new wally starting 6/16/19 or later please reply with some data! :-)

I hope that's not the case. My scores just updated a couple days ago and I'm waiting for my payment to clear before I request a CLI.

It’s the credit-seeking behavior that’s spooking lenders.
This is me yup it does affect you, anyone who tells you inqs dont matter either has a super thick profile or super high income lol cuz they do in my opinion
. Dont feel bad Grsmps , my reports look like a who did it and ran lol. Key is to tecognize this and hit the breaks. Also lenders are changing, especially Sync.
I've had my card for years since 2011 maybe SL $500. Any way i used to never use it. So the first year they upped my limit every 3 months without me asking for it. Then i used it for xmas. Then paid it off then they kept upping my limit till it went to $3000. They were small increases but i never asked for it. Fast forward to January of this year I was 1 day late with my payment and they decreased it by $500? So yea not predictable at all. But luckly i rarely go to walmart just shop there online sometimes.
