After being denied a couple of years I was able to get in. EX 717 FICO 8
I was checking their website cause I've seen approvals here and thought, "why not?!" I tried for platinum using the know if you're approved and I was and I withdrew my app since I didn't want it. Did the same for BCP but I'm not a fan of the annual fee. Tried for the BCE and it was declined. I figured I was flagged for fraud due to too many attempts. I called a number I received via email and found out I was declined bce cause I was still pending with bcp. Weird thing happened. When it declined it also created a hard inquiry on TransUnion. I'm pissed cause I didn't accept or get a chance to withdraw! Why tell me I wouldn't get a credit pull until I accept and do it anyway!!?
Hours later after going back and forth with Amex and transunion I applied for bcp and got approved. They pulled EX only as mentioned earlier. They only gave $1000 but I'll see if I can product change. I'll get increases later but I'm glad to finally be in with them.
Any ideas on where to go from here? Amex says there was no approval so I shouldn't have a hard pull on TU but I can clearly see the pull as did the reps at TU.

new customers get a Exp + TU pull, so that's normal and expected.
get the SUB and keep the BCP for 1 year, when you see the AF post, ask to product change down to the blue cash everyday.
check to see if they will grant a CLI after 90 days and keep checking until they do, ask for $3k and then ask for $9k on the next one

Congratulations on getting in with Amex, and your approval! I personally wouldn't be concerned with the SL. Amex has proved to be very generous for many, allowing limits to grow substantially over short periods of time. Treat them right and they generally reward it with high CLs and more generous new approvals.
Congratulations on the approval
Congrats on the approval!
Congratulations on your Amex BCP approval!
Congrats on your AMEX Blue Cash Preferred approval

Congrats! I cant stress enough how important it is to ask for those amex 3xcli at 61 days and again at 181 days or somewhere therebouts. I took my 3500 BCE to 24,500 (i didnt want higher than that) in that amount of time from that trick.
This could easily become a close to 10,000 CL card in 9-12 months. And my experience is that most issuers will begin matching amex. Good luck!
Thanks everyone! While I'm hoping the limit changes once I get the card, if it doesn't I will definitely take your approach.
