AMEX Everyday Card

So, after years of trying, I was finally Approved for an AMEX, the Everyday Card just to get my foot in the door. I was apparoved for a 1K limit. Seemed kinda low to be considering I have credit cards with $5k+, but I'll be using this card very often to buying track history with AMEX, but always paying it in full before it's statement closing date.

How long should I wait before requesting a CLI?

Re: AMEX Everyday Card

A lot of people's experience has been applying for a second card and getting a way better limit. For me in 2016, I was approved for the everyday card at $1k then applied for blue cash and got $15k. Try your luck!

after about 90 days, start checking the credit line increase button on the website (or perhaps in the app on android) everyday and see if it lets you request, expect to be able to 3x, to $3k, you can always request more to try to see if you'll be approved for more though

Re: AMEX Everyday Card

I've seen the option in the app that gives me the option to see what my "Buying Power" is. But I've read abusing that will trigger a financial review.  Also, are CLI SP or HP's?

Re: AMEX Everyday Card

CLI are SPs.  Wait for your 3rd statement to post and you ought to get the CLI option.

The $1,000 SL is typically noting that your approval was borderline for AMEX.   However, there have been posts of $1,000 SL with CLIs to $3,000 and to $9,000...

Re: AMEX Everyday Card

Congratulations on your approval! I've checked my buying power often and never had any reviews.

Re: AMEX Everyday Card

Yes. Amex has always been like the golden CC I've always wanted but has always been proven to be very difficult to get for me. It may be an entry into the ecosystem but gotta start somewhere!
