Congrats. I was approved for the SPG this weekend and it was delivered by UPS this morning.
I have 2 other Amex cards, TE and Plat and I qualify for the SPG bonus, which was confirmed by CSR when I called in to activate. My understanding of their bonus rule is that if you've had that particular card (SPG, Delta, Gold, Plat, etc) in the past, you no longer qualify for a sign up bonus if you close it and apply later for it again. But for each product type, you can get the bonus if it's your first. I thought they changed the wording to discourage churners. Am I misinterpreting the T&C's?
I really hope that's the case, I'm applying for SPG in January and even the 25k bonus would be nice.
