Re: AMEX approval third time was not a charm

Congrats on the Delta.    I started with a Delta @ 1k.   it wasnt until later that i got BCE with a 1.6k and to this day i have never recieved a CLI on any of my Amex cards.   When you start like i did at the just barely good enough for a 1k approval it seems to take awhile to get a CLI, but it will be that much more awesome since you had to wait for it.  (at least thats what i'm telling myself)

That's true, how much could I allocate to one card? Do I have wait until the new card ages?

The minimum for each card is 1k, you can move as much as you want, but you have to leave at least that on it. I have tried to do that with no success as well so far.  I think you have to be "good" enough to get a CLI to move limits.  Since your BCE is 500 (assume steps?)  you will have to wait till they give you more on that one.    Starting low like myself, we will have to wait. From what i heard its a year, but after that its all good for CLI's.

+1

As disappointed as I was with my own Delta Gold $1k credit line I figured at least I'd be able to move $500 over to my BCP, but nope, they wouldn't let me.  The letter I got said I had to leave $1k on the old card.  Smiley Sad

Some people have had luck with leaving only $500, though, so it never hurts to try.
