DW just got approved for a $5k CL. She was originally denied outright for a $25k limit after reviewing tax returns for DTI being too high. They didn't counter offer but she asked them to recon and $5k is all they could do. Sounds like they pretty much wrote off all her income since she is self employed 1099.
Fico 8 EQ was 817
Her highest credit limit is CSR $63k
Lowest is Target $10k.
Total CL is $298k.
DTI 7%.
3/12 and 4/24.
Talking to the assistant manager she said they will re-evaluate it at 6 months. And they don't care how many payments we make a month. DW was planning on using it to make quarterly tax payments so it will take many payments in a month.
I was thinking about applying for it too but not sure how much better I'll do since I have some W2 income.
Congrats to your DW for her approval even if the limit wasn't as big as she wanted. Hopefully in six months when they see the usage on and payments needed to keep up they'll give her a substantial increase
Congrats on the AOD Visa Signature approval

Congratulations on DW's AOD Visa Signature approval!
Congratulations on your approval!
@GatorGuy sounds like the DW is taking you out for a steak tofu dinner! Congrats to you both!
Congrats on the approval!!! AOD has been very decisive on stance in regards to self employed, student loans and those with high TCL. They seem to get even more conservative than 13 months ago. Glad you got recon, and they are willing to review in 6 months. They really have been a terrific CU!

Congrats to DW on her AOD Visa Signature approval . . . A total CL of $298k is absolutely awesome. Mentor for sure!!!
Congrats-- AOD is definitely a 'destination' card for the rewards category in my opinion. Nice to get it even with a lower CL for now
