Hi guys and gals,

Current Credit Scores (MyFico)
I got approved for $4200 for the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card. This is literally the first credit card (not counting the Chime secured card) that I have had in over two decades. Before I begin, I truly wish to thank all who gave their input. I know everyone's time is important. And the fact that you took the time to answer my questions means a lot:
Here is the direct link to the card
I was pre-approved for the card first. Then I went into the approval process. The process happened in less than 30 seconds (technology has come a long way). I honestly could not believe how fast it was. And the card has many benefits. I also received a $150 gift card after the approval that I could use right away on Amazon. (Wow, that was nice).
I also realized that the card immediately reduced only my Equifax score ( -32 points). I don't know if this was due to added debt or an inquiry.
A few hours later. I tried Capital One. I was pre-approved for the Capital One but was denied for the approval. I believe I was after the Capital One Venture card. After that, I stopped applying. I'm concerned about multiple hard inquiries lowering my score even further. When I search Google, they state:
" People also ask: Do credit inquiries show up right away?
Equifax tells me: The period of time may vary depending on the credit scoring model used, but it's typically from 14 to 45 days. "
I wish to take the advice provided to me here and attempt to get approved for one more card. Then wait for a year to apply for more. I'm currently researching more cards for easy/easier approval.
Thanks so much
Congrats on your Amazon Approval!
Congrats on your Amazon Rewards (Chase) Visa approval and a nice SL for your first approval in so long ![]()
Try to pre qualify for a Truist card as a non client... and if you do, it should not be a hard pull to accept the card.
Congrats on the card! It's a good one.
Inquiries show up almost instantly. I applied for the Custom Cash two days ago, and I got an alert from Experian of a new inquiry within a few minutes. What may take a while to show up is the new tradeline. If you plan to apply for a new card soon, the usual strategy is to do it before the new tradeline shows up, because once your new card reports it will be visible to any potential lenders (with rare exceptions, new tradelines are reported to all 3 bureaus). And if you just got a hard pull on EQ, pick a lender that will pull one of the other two bureaus, so the new potential lender won't know that you just applied for another card (this is a good resource). Though that may not work for you, because Cap1 tends to triple pull, so there's a good chance there's a fresh inquiry on your reports from all 3 bureaus. In that case, waiting for 3-6 months might be the best bet.
Nice approval for you. Grats on getting it!
Congrats
