Congrats UncleB! Nice little score and nice limit and APR.. Now you just got to do 20 swipes a month for the extra 20% if you want it.. I gave up on that along time ago since my card collection has became how do you say it "thick". I get about 7 swipes or around 150-200 on my ED a month now vs. 800 when I had a thinner profile and used it more and got the 20% bonus. Enjoy the card and well deserved!
Congrats! I LOVE my Amex ED card. I think you will be pleased with your new Amex. ![]()
@Anonymous wrote:Congrats, UncleB, on a very nice approval! Great SL and super low APR! I've got three cards with Amex, with nice SL's, but I've never been given or approved for an increase since I've had them (I think it's been almost two years). Never filed bk, but had baddies dating back to 2009 which have aged off my CR's. They still won't budge and I don't ask anymore. I'm still very thankful to them for all that they have given me.
With your $2K increase on your BCP, I'd say they're warming up to you! Hope some Delta love is right around the corner. You'll be gardening with a cache of wonderful cards, great scores, and total contentment! Doesn't get any better than that, my friend!
Thanks so much, weedeb! ![]()
I completely agree that while gardening is usually a good thing, content gardening is really the best way to go if at all possible, and I'm definitely 'content' now (LOL).
Right after my BCP increase I tried for a bump on the Delta but I got the 7-10 day notice (which is a decline) but oddly I never got a letter; I'm sure that it was the same reason as before, though. Once the 90 days has passed (about another month) I'll try again, but this time on the BCP just to see where I stand. If it works out it will be nice, but if not that's OK too... I spend a year and a half working with a $1k limit, I can certainly "deal" with a $3k limit... LOL.
All-in-all I'm extremely pleased with Amex, and I'll be the first to speak up and mention how I know they didn't have to take me back at all, and I'm certainly not entitled to anything from them. Frankly, I was very happy to just be able to get a Green card two years ago; that I now have a PRG, Delta, BCP and ED is simply icing on the cake. ![]()
As time goes on if there are any changes in the relationship I'll be sure to share the details here... hopefully if there are changes, they will be positive <fingers crossed>.
Thanks again for your kind words! ![]()
CONGRATS!! Excellent starting limit!!

I might be able to make the 20 swipes the first month or so while I'm working on the spend requirement for the bonus, but after that I suspect it will be a while before I make that again... like you say, I have to 'spread the love around', but depending on how things work out that could always change! ![]()
Thanks again! ![]()

Thanks so much, irun! ![]()
This is actually my first no-AF Amex card (Centurion, anyway), and I'm already looking forward to cashing in on the Amex offers without having to keep mental count of if it's earning the AF back!
I think this one's definitely a 'keeper'... hopefully they will be as eager to keep me!
Thanks again! ![]()

Thanks, doinit1! ![]()
I agree... I was as shocked/impressed as anybody with the SL myself! ![]()

Lo, by the looks of your approval snapshot, Amex is now fully aware of Uncle B, the man thats worthy of some true Amex redemption.. Big congrats, well deserved and only took 17 years to start feeling the true love of Amex
. No one can blame you for striking while the irons is hot. This was just too good a chance and your Experian score proves it. Careful of all the infighting between all your new youn younguns.
Enjoy again
LOL... thanks so much, my friend!
I definitely consider myself a 'redemption' case... years ago I got myself a Serve card just so that I would have a card on the Amex network, and I honestly figured that was as close as I would ever come to getting a card with their logo again. I had no idea that I would ever be allowed back in at all, much less to this level. Hopefully my story will give someone in a similar situation hope... if I can 'bounce back' anybody can! ![]()
I also appreciate your pointing out the time I had to wait... it definitely required patience, which is sometimes hard to muster up. The 25k bonus along with knowing that once my other new accounts start reporting my EX will take a beating was enough to push me over the fence (otherwise waiting until later in the year would have likely been the thing to do).
The 'infighting' amongst the cards is a real deal... LOL. I had planned on using my Chase Amazon Visa hard-and-heavy for a month or so to (hopefully) trigger an auto-CLI but now that will have to wait... there's no way I'm taking a chance of missing out on 25k MR points! ![]()
Thanks again for the congrats, and thanks as always for your kind words and encouragement! ![]()
That's AWESOME
I am so happy for you. I am waiting 3 more months to apply for a Amex card I do have some offers on the prequal but without the welcome offers
But I hope in 3 months there will be some good welcome offers for me. I can't wait until I get my first Amex card
With my scores EQ 745 TU 767 EX743 You would think there would have been some welcome offers for me but it's all good
