Outstanding UncleB! So happy for your success! Congratulations!

I am so happy for you. I am waiting 3 more months to apply for a Amex card I do have some offers on the prequal but without the welcome offers
But I hope in 3 months there will be some good welcome offers for me. I can't wait until I get my first Amex card
With my scores EQ 745 TU 767 EX743 You would think there would have been some welcome offers for me but it's all good
Thanks so much, Joe! ![]()
FWIW, including the Green card I closed last year, this is my 5th Amex approval in 24 months, and I've never had anything show up on the preapproval; I've always cold app'ed. With your strong EX score not only do I think you would have no trouble at all, I suspect you would be rather pleased with the SL and APR if you were to go for a revolver (and a charge card should certainly be no issue). ![]()
When you feel the time is right, seek out one of the good bonus offers like I found, and make the most of it (with Amex new account bonuses are once-per-lifetime, so you want to get the highest bonus you can get the first time around).
Thanks again for your kind words, and when the time comes for you good luck! (and let us know how it goes!) ![]()

I'm now officially ready for a 'long winter's nap' over in the garden! ![]()
Thank you for your kind words. I also thought my chances would be better if I wait until some of my account would reach 1 year old since I have 9 new accounts in past year plus I have 8 or 9 INQS on EX

You're very welcome! ![]()
Only you know what's best for you, and of course all profiles are different, but I can share that generally-speaking Amex isn't known to be super-sensitive to new accounts or inquiries; I've actually got around 10 HPs on EX right now (even if Amex didn't do a HP for this approval, they still know about the other HPs from their last SP).
I also have quite a few new accounts from last year as well; if your overall AAoA is otherwise in good shape you would probably be OK, however I agree that when in doubt sometimes it's best to wait until the fog clears. I purposely held off on applying with Citi and Chase because I wanted as close to a 'sure thing' as possible. ![]()
One thing is (almost) certain... Amex won't be going away, so whenever you're ready they'll be there. ![]()
Congrats UncB! That's a freaking fab SL!
On a side note good selection of cards, you have almost the exact same line up I do (change Delta for Hilton) ![]()
Congrats UncleB!
That's a nice SL.. Now if you can just share the limits to your other Amex Cards..
Hoping my Amex BCE grows as well after this Amex Platinum approval. Hope to see more positives from this day forward.
Congrats,,,, sweet approval,..enjoy that baby,,, this one should grow very nicely for ya....looks like a keeper 4 sure...
*edit-- since ur gonna be doing APR reductions don't forget to keep checks on AMEX they have been great w/ reducs.![]()
