Hello again!
I just got approved for the Amex Green, using a referral link to get the 50K with 2K spend in 6 months offer. This offer is perfect for me because I'm about to purchase a MacBook - which will take a big chunk of that required spend on its own. Even beyond that, having half a year to finish the other 500$ of spend will be a cakewalk.
I was originally planning to hold off and apply for the Freedom Flex in April, but waiting 8 months and wasting a record-high offer on a card I was likely to get anyway seems like not a good idea. I'm not too sure yet if I want to keep the Green in year two - I could reasonably use the LoungeBuddy credits but I'd only be able to use half of those for CLEAR (the student discount being 50$ annually for four years). Travel and dining were my largest spending categories in the last year, and I imagine that as things open up they will continue to be in the future, so that's a plus. Worst case scenario, I make the most of the Green and cancel it 366 days from now, having grown my 5 (or 7 card base by October '21) card base to a decent enough average that it shouldn't have that much of an affect.
Good vibes
Congrats on your AMEX approval!
Also, verify if that CC also has other benefits you could take advantage of when buying your MBP, like Return Protection, Purchase Protection, and Extended Warranty.
Congrats on your approval!
Congratulations on your approval!
Congratulations on your Amex Green approval!
Congrats on your approval!! Good luck on your Mac purchase!
A word of advice on Amex. While you definitely want to wait full year before closing, not a lender to churn if you want a relationship. They can and will restrict SUB down the road.
