Wow! Congrats ! I too have the stash and care credit. I have the exact same starting line for stash! I'm waiting on my card to come to request an increase. I requested increase the same night I was approved and they denied it. Anyway, thank you for posting!

Happy I could help! That is what we are all about here.

One thing I've learned from my applications and approvals is to not assume anything when an application needs further review instead of resulting in an instant approval.

A lot of people on here tell stories about how a "pending" or "7-10 days" message is the start of a long, arduous campaign to get more credit. Phone numbers to call, tactics to use, things to recite verbatim. It's easy to get the idea that every "further review" message is going to be a denial unless you prepare for battle.

In practice, unless you actually are going for 17 new accounts in six months, it's often the case that a rather uninterested clerk just needs to check some mundane detail.

You are absolutely right, CarefulBuilder! Great wisdom there.

You know, I didn't have a plan to get 17. I just added the cards to places in my portfolio where I knew they would get good use. In six months, a year, two years, I predict I will still be happy with most of them, although I do have plans to combine some credit lines. My two lowest lines came when my Chapter 13 still showed on my credit reports. Following that I waited until I thought my scores were at their maximum to begin adding new cards. I did take note which credit bureau each one pulled so that my report would not be overloaded. Then the car inquiries hit like a tank truck. I have learned my lesson there, too. Next car purchase I will take in a check for the car I want. My scores have gone from high 700's to mid and low 700's, which is pretty amazing to me.

So I am one lucky duck who accidently added accounts at the optimal time. I have no complaints about anything. I waited for seven years to do this! It was hard waiting, but now I am happy I did. Now I love commenting on other posts and enjoying my time in the forum. There is still so much to learn.
