After seeing credit_is_crack's threads, I pulled the trigger on US Bank's prequalification site.
They offered me a choice of 3 cards. I was leery because I am a bit overextended right now, and I expect things to continue this way for another year (or a little less, hopefully). I haven't had any late payments (knock wood), but the interest is starting to build up and no other lenders have been pre-approving me for cards, only for lines of credit.
I pulled the trigger last week and got the 7-10 message, so I was upset at myself for risking the HP. I called the phone number to check on status and asked if they just needed to verify me and she said my app was still in processing. I took that as a denial, but as of yesterday, I hadn't gotten a letter yet, so I called the automated check status hotline. To my surprise, I am approved and I should be receiving my card shortly! I don't know what my CL is yet, but anything will help! Rotating balance transfers isn't bringing my balances down, but it's saving me right now from having any late payments until I graduate and pass my boards in the spring. I am working part-time, but due to fluctuating hours, there have been months where I fall short of what I need.
I'm not sure, but I think they pulled TU, and my score with them was 690. No lates, no CO, no BK. With TU, I had 3 hard inq and my AAOA was 2 yrs 10 months.
Grats on the approval!
A lot of Cash+ approvals recently.
Congrats! on the US Bank approval and wish you the best in bringing your balances off the tight wire of jockying.
This forum as you already see is a great study product in how best to piece it all together like you need to see it even when things require some juggling.

Congrats on the Approval mzinfinit! Although the BT shift doesn't help reduce your balance, it still does inadvertently help because the additional credit should bring down your utilization. If it brings it down enough you might cross one of the UTI thresholds and could even see a slight score boost
That new limit will help your padding. In your case, No Movement could be measured as Upward Movement.
Congrats again and Good Luck on your Spring exams!
While CIC is correct, the more important stratagy is to pass your boards ! Until then, as you have learned, putting the
breaks to unnecessary spending should be your top priority. If you can balance juggle and save on interest, that will
certainly help. Good luck
Congrats!!!
They pulled EX for me for some reason.

Thanks, all!
I found out my CL, and it's $600. Not what I was expecting from a VS card, but I'll take it!
Call and tell them you want a limit more relative to your spend. I was approved for 500. Asked for 10k on recon. Got it. USBank is not unreasonable. Good luck.
