Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Hey everyone! First time posting here, have been browsing through these forums for sometime though. Anyways I just started to rebuild my credit one year ago. I am 25 and never really cared about it until I needed to buy a new car!
I got a Discover IT secured card in Jan. 2017 right after my car purchase with a $500 SL, 6 months later it was un-secured, fastforward to now I just got a CLI to $1000. So I decided to apply for some more cards probably too many but oh well I got excited.
App spree:
Uber Visa - $500 SL - had to recon
QS1- $300 w/ credit steps
BankAmericard - $500
AMEX BCE - $500
Anyways, I was wondering if you all think I would be eligible for the 3X cli on the amex. I wasn't sure since it seems to me AMEX let me slide in by the skin of my teeth.
I received this email from AMEX shortly after getting approved:
You can earn a higher credit line on your new Blue Cash Everyday® from American Express. Simply follow the steps below for each of your first five statements:
Kinda bummed about the low starting limits but am happy to have more accounts that I can let grow. Into the garden I go!
The $500 CL on the BCE is Amex's version of "credit steps" . You will not be eligible for the 3X CLI in 61 days; instead you will get a 2X CLI after 180 days.

Congrats, it is a start in the right direction
@Anonymous does this rule apply to the 1000 SL as well? I kinda think I barely got in as well.
There have been a few people in the x3 thread that have got the 61 day increase. Overall does not seem that they do though. I am in same boat with my Gold Delta I got this month at 1,000 SL.
Whats your credit score and other data points?
If you were in Amex's "credit steps" you would have received an e-mail outlining the conditions you need to meet to recieve the 2X CLI after 180 days. So if you were not sent an e-mail you can't automatically assume that you're in "credit steps" even if your starting CL was $1,000.
Did you recieve a signup bonus offer when you were originally approved?

Scores before spree - EX: 681 TU: 701 EQ: 642
AAOA before spree: 1yr 2mo
I have a charge off from Verizon Wireless on all three CA for $1900
10 Medical collections on EQ
1 Medical collection on EX
0 Collections on TU
Started in November 2017 with DiscoverIT secured and a new car (joint). I am hoping to be able to get some of these collections removed from EQ as I have already disputed them and gotten them removed from TU and EX.
