Quick logistical question when going on an app spree. Should I have multiple browsers open and hit the app button as close in time together as possible or should I use two different devices like a laptop and an ipad and hit simultaneously? Sounds silly I know but does timing matter when going on an app spree especially if both cards are from the same company?

This can be added to the book of old wives tales, it matters not in the electronic age, inquiries are recorded in nanoseconds and cannot be hidden from the 2nd one. What is more important is the order of apps to the ones that you will select.
So apply for the more difficult card first then the easier card or vice versa?

Some of us know particular quirks of an issuing creditor and can help you select the order. With Barclays is best to make them your last on the list they dont like a lot of new accounts within 6 months of their opening and have been known to close newly opened accounts due to too many opening at once (this is more of a prob with a short credit history over a long one). The selection of creditors can also be made to spread the inquires across the CRAs so no 1 report is dinged for all of them. You can Google search credit pulls database and who have me credit for likely CRA pull...

So are you saying BOA (who pulls EX) and Barclay (who pulls TU) will not know you are applying for credit concurrently until the TL is listed on your CR the next month? Or do they know instantly as soon as you app (even though they may not be pulling the same report)?

They would only see the INQ if they pull the same report.

Last? Shouldn't they be first to avoid them seeing INQ's? Sallie May, Care Credit, Chase and Discover are on my list. 2 to 3 of those would be TU. I realize they might not like that. I'm trying to stock up on the rewards cards but might forgo the Sallie Mae due to this. If I go for them, are you saying I should have dings (CC and maybe Discover) and THEN app with them so they are my "newest ding"?
Ok that makes sense, thank you for clarifying that for me. So I'm itching to app for the Amex Delta Gold and BCE but I also want the Chase Freedom. Looking at the credit pulls database they both Amex and Chase seem to pull heavy from Experian. I'm new to Amex (2mo. ago I got my first Amex, Platinum instant approval) so that may play a role with them but I also don't mind that its a soft pull if denied and I can take the HP if approved. That leaves me with debting whether or not to go for the Freedom as well since its a HP either way approved or denied.

FWIW, Amex & Chase both have pre-approval sites.
