You have to be careful using any forum posts on any topic to determine trends.  Earlier this year I apped 2 Chase cards within 24 hours and got both instantly approved with high limits.  Credit can and does vary from person to person and certainly plays a role in how many Chase cards one can get approved for and what limits one can get.
