Hello, i'm new to MyFico, been hanging in reddit lately. And just want to share a data point of mine when i got approved for the Amex Gold.
These are the cards i have before Amex.
1. CapOne Platinum - (06/24 CL 400, product changed to Quicksilver the same day i got approved for Amex)
2. CapOne QuicksilverOne (10/24 CL 400)
3. Apple Card (01/25 CL 500)
My total credit lines is 1,3k, got a auto loan from 11/23 (still owing 19k) that recently i refinanced slightly before the approval.
I had 7 inquiries at that time, oldest account is 2Y 5M and AAoA is 1Y 2M. And for the credit scores, i had 702 with Experian, 697 on both Equifax and TransUnion. Income is about 66k/year.
I've applied for an AmEx BCE last two months but denied due to recent inquries, high utilization (about 70%), and thin profile. Tried again on March 23rd, they asked me to confirm my Social Security Number which i did, and they gave me the decision on 24th morning, stating i got approved for Amex Gold with 90k offer. And now i'm just waiting for it to arrive while into the garden i go.
Congrats!
Nicely done!! Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Congratulations
Congrats on your approval !
Congrats. That's quite a trajectory you are on: first card Platinum 6/24, nine months later Gold!

Fortunately, it's a soft pull to check whether i have an approval or not so in my mind, why not try it till i got approved. Tried for CFU but denied due to under a year profile and some of the exact same reason Amex denied me first time. So i guess i was lucky.
AmEx is notorious for soft pull second cards, too. So, if you check the pre-approval in a few months, you might be able to snag the BCE with no new inq. Keep your reports frozen. Worst case is they say you are not eligible.

Congratulations on your Amex Gold approval!
