B of A - Approval after recon - Immediate regret

Like an idiot I app'd a "preselected" offer for the Cash Rewards Visa. Got the 30 day notice. Got mad at myself for falling for this "offer" and called in. 1-800-601-3923 which is for business recons but the guy transferred me to personal. Talked to another guy and he approved it for $500. 20.74 APR. A wasted card until it grows but I guess atleast its not a HP for nothing. I regretted apping as soon as I hit submit. My first approval I was not happy about. I think I am going to freeze my reports so I don't app anything else. Smiley Sad

Edit: Added card type.

The good thing with BofA is that starting CL doesn't limit the potential for future growth.  Lot's of stories of cards that started with $500 or even as secured cards eventually getting to much bigger limits.  The rewards on this card can be excellent if you have a preferred relationship with BofA.  Congrats on the recon and not wasting a HP.

Don't regret it-you got approved. Use it regularly for gas and see if they give you an auto CLI during the first year. BofA is actually really good about CLI's (HP sadly but usually worth it) and APR decreases.

Re: B of A - Approval after recon - Immediate regret

I don't doubt it is a good card and will grow. My son has one and loves it and his has grown nicely. What makes it virtually useless to me is I didn't need it. I have 28 cards already. I wanted it, didn't need it and should not have app'd it. That is my only regret.

Ah , you slipped, it happens. Freezing might be your best option. Now id say you really have problems if you " accidentally" apped a Credit Two card, yikesSmiley Happy

Don't beat yourself up over this. What is done is done. As is evidence in your post above, it will grow for you based on your son's growth as well as other posters stating the same.

I've been there so I know how you feel. Let's look forward to your future post that states this card is now a $20k line! It can and will happen for you.  Smiley Happy

Yeah, but are any of your existing 28 cards sexy red cards? I didn't thnk so LOL.

In all seriousness, I think we have all applied for a card we didn't need. Lord knows I have. Its okay to feel regret but what is done is done so try not to beat yourself up about it. Lesson learned, no more cards for a while.

I am interested in what other cards you have Smiley Happy
