Shoot, my only business with them was in the 80s with a $500 limit VISA with what was then Chemical Bank that had a good payment history. Can't get in with them at all for some reason, even on non-5/24 cards.
I've read they are really strict, as well, which is why I was so hesitant, but, between the advice on here, and other websites I found, the key is getting someone at the reconciliation area that is nice and willing to listen.
Even though it's not a full on Chase card (like the Freedom, or what not), it is the Amazon one, but, it is a VISA and not just a store card, so, I will be very good to it... ![]()
Congrats!

Congrats OP! Good job on the recon.
I'm actually jealous. I was only able to get a $500 SL on the Amazon card, and $500 on the FU. My BK7 is from 2011, but I did burn them for a few K.
A lot of people have commented that it's a denial without possibility of recon, but I know others who were approved as well. If the BK denial was really coded in their system, no analyst or supervisor would be able to bypass it. I think the majority of credit analysts just aren't willing to take a chance because their jobs may depend on default stats, and approving someone with a BK is definitely high risk and a red flag. (this is my guess). I've been denied on recon only to call again and get someone willing to look at my file and approve me.
Congratulations! While I've been eyeing the Chase Amazon Visa, I knew it'd be a really hard row to hoe due to my own BK, particularly having stuck Chase for $12K in the process. This report definitely gives me hope for the future, though. I'm back in the garden now, having popped out to try my luck with the PayPal 2% MC and scoring on it, but I'll certainly put this card in my wish list for next year or the year after that..
