I should correct my mistake. I'm wanting to apply for the Arrival+ within a couple months. Gonna be traveling a ton for work and some for vacation.
Congrats OP!
I also had an app recon with Barclays for their rewards card. I actually called twice because the first rep told me no. I felt that I kinda deserved the card so I called back and got an approval haha.. only for $500 but it was an approval. A day later I called again to recon the CL and now its at $1,500. Waiting for the card to come in the mail ![]()
This forum really gave me confidence to even call for recons. Thanks everyone!

The first recon attempt... what reasons were given? If you don't mind me asking.
In my recent app spree, they were on my 1st-spree-list. I jotted down the 7-10 and moved on.
When I called back, I chatted up the awesome girl on the phone for a while. But the end result was still a no.
I'll admit that I still have a baddie showing from a "not mine" and "I ain't paying someone elses debt" pinnacle/vzw baddie that everyone else ignores. (yes, I'm constant working on removal. They just keep coming back... 4 steady years now, and re-age all the time)
But I'm curious if I were to call back again, would there be a possibility of success again. I know "YMMV", but I'm just the curious type and would hate for that HP to totally be a waste if it could result in success.
OP: Congrats! Sorry for the thread hijack ![]()

So, I originally applied back in July and was denied. I didnt know much about recon through backdoor numbers a the time.. i only found this forum in Sept. SO, when i applied the other day and was denied again I called to recon and was told that they were still looking at my app and CR from july. I had them do a hard pull and the lady again indicated a denial. The reasons were old CO accounts from 2010 (1 Chase card and 1 HSBC account in addition to a repo from Cap1). So I let it go...
I just thought to myself those accounts are so old, my life has changed significantly, and my income went from $0 in 2010 to $85k now (from grad student to employed). So I called back and spoke to another lady. She asked questions about what transpired in 2009/2010 and asked how I used my current credit. Thats all it took.. approved. Very little limit, but approved nonetheless. Called the next day and recon the limit. I needed a little more haha. The guy that increased the limit asked the same questions as the second call and was more understanding.. I have a feeling he was in the same boat as me at some point in his life.
Goodluck!!
