Can anyone confirm if Bank of America does auto CLIs on their credit cards anymore? I have a 2.5 year old Cash Rewards card that has never seen a CLI since I opened the account. The card has the smallest CL of the 3 credit cards that I have - the BoA is at a 1.5K, Discover at a 2.5K and a Chase CSP at a 8K. I called the customer service line and was told that BoA no longer does auto CLIs - any CLIs require a HP. My CK is currently at around 760 and Discover FICO is slightly above that as well. If I have to do a HP, is it worth it? CK says that I have 3 HPs on my report.
When I got mine from 5k to 7.5K I called a credit analyst. Seems to work better for me
I say ask minimum 10k to comensate what you do have already and let them know its your go to card.
I have a BofA AMEX, through an alumni association. The card had higher limits in the past, was CLD down to 12,700, the last CLD was January 2013.
My balances continue to be reduced, and they started sending me BT offers again a little over a year ago. So I BT $12,000 off the card to make room, BT $10,700 onto the card, for 84% utilization and a 0% offer that runs until April 2016. I then started paying that rather heavily. Got the balance down to $6,500 by February, and they gave me a $3k auto CLI to $15,700.
Yes, they do give auto CLI.
Are you using the card heavily and paying heavily? Like a lot of lenders (Chase excepted) they will respond to heavy usage and heavy payments.

BofA increases ARE only HP's anymore unless somebody knows different
I don't think that's an absolute though but a rarity these days. I received an auto-CLI on my WWF Cash Rewards early last year (unsolicited) - by BoA standards you could say during the Jurassic period... the most recent was for my Privileges Cash Rewards in December (pre-approved SP CLI via email solicitation).
I think I'll end up shelving this card... I just don't see the point of using it anymore because of the lack of benefits that a non-signature VISA offers... besides the 2%+ back on groceries and 3%+ on gas (I don't spend much on gas anymore)
When I was in school, this card used to have 50% utilization ... I never would have imagined that Discover would beat BoA to giving me a larger CL.
