What about the AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant? It does have a $450 AF but you get $300 worth of statement credits for purchases at Marriott properties as well as Gold Elite status, an extra point per purchase at restuarants and airlines than the Chase card does, airport lounge access and a $100 TSA pre check credit. The SUB is 100k points for $5k in spend.

If you got a lower SL than you expected you could go for the 3x CLI at 61 days. Then you could possibly snag a CSP with a decent limit if Chase sees you managing a few 5 digit cards well.

Completely like your angle a little better and not concerned with spend minimums...So, I burned AmEx in BK 2009, not a small amount, might be ok to move forward don't know. However, I was listed as an AU on my father's AmEx plat in 2013 and he defaulted on it...soooooooo long of the short a little afraid of AmEx still remembering the past and will decline immediately...but maybe that does not mean a hard pull if they decline due to internal reasons.

Also, tried to get an AmEx rep on the phone to get them to let me know what my profile looked like (e.g. do you have any notes saying...do not give cc to...lol) didn't work. It would be a blind app, but I do love AmEx and can't wait to get back the plat card.
